Albany man changes his story on stabbing

      Police on scene

Albany police say a man who told them he was stabbed by a stranger was actually attacked by his girlfriend.

30-year-old Troy Sperling originally reported that he was working on his car in his driveway when an unknown male approached him.

He said the man asked him for a cigarette and then stabbed him in the stomach.

Police later determined that Sperling was stabbed by his girlfriend, 30-year-old Courtney Jenkins.

Jenkins is now charged with aggravated assault.

Sperling is charged with giving a false report.
