Albany High School celebrates Veterans Day

Students learn about the gear worn in a combat zone

Veterans from World War II, The Vietnam War, The Korean War, The Gulf War, and the current Wars on Terror spoke to Albany High School students for their Veterans Day celebration.

Each of the wars had a separate display where veterans shared personal war experiences and educated students on why the war was fought. Students had the opportunity to try on army gear, sit in a Hummer, and interact with recruiters from all branches of the military.

The Albany High School Social Studies department organized the celebration and say they hope to turn it into an annual event.
