Albany fire brings Christmas to kids in pediatric care
ALBANY, Ga. —
Some kids are sad about spending Christmas in the hospital, but they got a special surprise to put a smile on their faces on Friday.
Santa Claus and Albany Fire Department stopped by Phoebe Putney to give Christmas gifts to kids in pediatric care. The ages range from a newborn baby to six years old.
The donations for the presents were collected by the fire department from people in the community or donated by Albany Technical College.
"On Christmas Day, when're you going to be in the hospital, just to have Santa and the fire department give a gift, and it being a surprise can put a smile on their face,” Assistant Chief Sebon Burns
This is the third year that the fire department is doing this.
Chief Burn says they enjoy spreading love and bringing joy to kids that won't be home for the holidays.
