Albany City Commission discusses "Strategic Plan" and WG&L
City of Albany Commissioners are currently meeting with two main topics to discuss.
The first is in regards to a "strategic plan" that would last over the next 10 years to stimulate the community and encourage younger residents to stay, or return after college.
Assistant City Manager, Wes Smith, addressed the board and emphasized that these plans can generally run $250,000 dollars over the course of six-to-eight months.
Commissioners discussed the plan with some saying it must go into affect while others argued that with the current budget status, it isn't the right time.
Commissioners also discussed Water Gas & Light, in regards to their efficiency.
Officials with WG&L cited several issues that need to be addressed including, communication between the city and WG&L and several challenges that are unresolved in the current model.
