Albany City Commission approves bus fare hike
To some people 25 cents may be just change, but to others an extra quarter is what they'll need for transportation.
On Tuesday, the Albany City Commission voted to raise the bus fare 25 cents from $1.25 to $1.50.
They'll also have fare increases of five cents for the next five years.
David Hamilton with the Albany Transit System says, "our fuel costs have been rather high and we haven't had a fare increase since 2008 so this will help offset some of those expenses."
This will go into effect July 1st.
