The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce held its Legislative Affairs Rise and Shine Breakfast Thursday morning. The event was held at the Merry Acres Event Center on Dawson Road and brought together state and local legislators as well as business leaders in the Albany area.
The event began at 7:30 a.m. with a coffee and networking period, which was followed by the program. The program featured speakers from the Chamber of Commerce along with state legislators Senator Freddie Powell-Sims, and Representatives Gerald Greene, Winfred Dukes, Carol Fullerton and Ed Rynders.
The program also included a showing of the Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission's Albany video, which was shot entirely on an iPhone 5s and features local attractions around the area.
During the program, legislators focused on their relationship with the Chamber of Commerce and outlined goals for the future. The focus was primarily on increasing incentive for economic growth in Southwest Georgia, with special attention to expanding education opportunities.
