Officials with the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce say they expect to have a big year in 2012.
Chamber president and CEO Catherine Glover spoke to members of the Dougherty County Rotary Club Tuesday.
She says one of the biggest efforts the chamber is undertaking is to start promoting Albany as a retirement community.
"With the expendable income of many of our retirees right now, it's a business in our own right. So the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce is going to be working throughout 2012 to develop a familiarization, business attraction retiree destination to Albany," said Glover.
Glover says the Chamber is also making a concentrated effort to make Albany more attractive for large business conventions.
