State Fire Safety Commissioner, Ralph Hudgens, stopped in Moultrie today to promote a new program titled, "Operation Safe Home."

The program looks to provide every family in the state with proper fire detectors in their home. Commissioner Hudgens is giving out fire alarms to departments throughout the state in hopes that more and more people will be prepared, regardless of income.

"We've given a couple dozen here to the Moultrie Fire Department, and if you really need one you can come to the Moultrie Fire Department, or call them, and they'll arrange for you to get one. In fact, they'll even put it up for you," said Hudgens.

Hudgens is optimistic about the program and hopes that anyone that needs a detector, and can't afford one, will take full advantage.
