ADICA board moves on to newest project
Downtown Manager Aaron Blair updated the Albany-Dougherty Inner City Authority on the progress of the Pine Avenue Streetscape Project during their meeting Wednesday evening.
After months of delays due to all of the rain Southwest Georgia has received this year, Blair says all that's left is placing new street furniture along certain blocks and then they can tackle the Old Northside Streetlight Project.
"Jefferson, for instance which is kind of the main drag into downtown, it's so dark at night so all of that will change. It'll be drastic, you'll know when you have arrived in the neighborhood and that's the goal. We want you to see neighborhood in a different light," said Blair.
Though Blair says the area isn't more crime ridden than other places, the lighting will hopefully help deter things such as vandalism and other illegal activity.
