Accident ties up traffic in Sylvester

Emergency officials on scene after the accident.

Traffic was brought to a crawl after a car crashed into a power line in Sylvester.

The accident happened on West Franklin. The driver told police someone ran her off the road, causing her to hit the pole.

Officer Henry Duncan was handling another traffic stop just down the road when he heard the crash.

"Right where the Ford dealership is, maybe a few hundred feet and I hear the vehicle slam into something hard and i came out and saw the vehicle right where it is now," said Duncan.

The driver and her daughter were both taken to the hospital for treatment for bumps and bruises, but are expected to be okay.
