      A half million dollars awarded to the city of Cordele & Crisp Co.

      The Georgia Department of Community Affairs gave Crisp County Commissioners a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant which will be used to add a rail spur for the Stella Jones Project in the Industrial Park on Pateville Rd.

      The Georgia Department of Community Affairs awarded the city of Cordele a Community Development Block Grant worth $500,000.

      The grant will be used for sewer improvements in the Gillespie-Selden area of the city in conjunction with the current Revitalization Area Strategy and Urban Redevelopment plans that recently have been put in place to preserve the historical significance of the area.

      The project will serve approximately 400 residents.

      Crisp county also received a very large donation from that same organization.
