The Albany Convention and Visitors Bureau held a hospitality meeting to discuss some upcoming dates and events Wednesday afternoon.

The date for the upcoming five series bike race, the Albany SRS Series, has been set for May 17th.

Last year had a record in participation with 500 bikers and they're expecting an increase this year.

J.D. Sumner with CVB says they're already preparing for the big race by getting permits and setting up with enforcement for traffic control.

Sumner says "it attracts people from all over the world and being part of the series, the initial race starts in the city and then it heads over to Montgomery and then is goes over to Asheville, North Carolina; really makes it a cool event because we're involved with these other cities."

The date for the Albany Marathon has also been set for next on March 7th and participants can start registering for it now.
