90,000 gallons of sewage flowed into Flint River after equipment issue
Around 90,000 gallons of sewage has flowed into the Flint River after an equipment failure at a lift station.
City officials say that on May 20, the sewage flowed into the east bank of the Flint River just south of the Oglethorpe Boulevard bridge crossing.
Albany Utility officials say steps were taken to mitigate the overflow.
City officials say that water quality samples have been taken at upstream and downstream locations for analysis.
