      86-year-old woman scammed out of $10,000

      The Lowndes County Sheriff's Office needs your identifying a woman who is being sought in connection to the theft of money.

      Sheriff's officials say that that the 86-year-old victim was shopping at a Norman Drive business and was approached in the parking lot by a female who identified herself as Julia.

      The suspect told the victim that she found a wallet containing $150,000 and wanted help securing the money until the owner could be located.

      The victim took the suspect and another person who was waiting in a nearby vehicle, to her home to secure the wallet in a safe.

      Officials say that while at the residence, the suspect pretended to place the "money" into the safe but actually removed approximately $10,000 of the victim's money without the victim realizing what had taken place.

      The suspect is a black female, possibly in her 40's.
