44 animals seized from Albany home

An Albany man faces over 40 charges after 44 animals were seized from his home on Rosebrier Avenue Friday afternoon.

Officials say 54-year-old Dennis D. Marks is facing 48 various charges including unsanitary conditions, inhumane treatment and improper tags.

The home was searched after a 911 call was placed shortly after noon on November 1st.

Albany Animal Control and Albany-Dougherty Code Enforcement responded to find 43 dogs and a bird inside the home, which was then condemned for its condition.

Police say 35 dogs were taken to the Albany Humane Society while the remaining eight and the bird have been placed in foster homes.

Officials say the case is ongoing and will continue to provide details as they're released.
