The resident of the home, Walter Mallory, says he was unaware of the activities going on in his backyard. Mallory told FOX 31 News that a man he refers to as "Jackson" would tend to the animals and paid him $35 a month.
Authorities at the GBI say they are still searching for 32-year-old Demitri Jackson who they believe fled from the raid on Dower Avenue Saturday night. 55 dogs in connection with this investigation are being housed at the Albany Humane Society as evidence in the case. The humane society says they are at capacity and have had to order more kennels to accommodate the animals. They also say that a good number of the dogs may have to be euthanized.
