The Cordele Police Department is offering a $1,000 reward for any tips that can lead to an arrest the armed robbery of a local business.

Earlier this week, a local KFC was robbed making it the second armed robbery in a 10-day span.

The reward is linked to a robbery that happened at Auto Zone back on June 3rd.

Police ask people to keep their eyes open because the community is a huge help in solving these kind of cases.

They’re also telling business owners to stay alert.

"If somebody just comes in and just walks around the store and doesn’t purchase anything, go head and call us. Let us at least already be heading to that area. We may get lucky and when they come in and decide to do the robbery, we're already pulling up in the parking lot so if they see anything suspicious go ahead and call us. It can't hurt," said Cordele Police Department’s Lieutenant Ketorie Sales.

Sales said police are ramping up patrols and business walk-throughs to try to stop this trend from continuing.

He also said tips for the KFC robbery could lead to a cash reward as well.
