Report: Fatal plane crash during 'American Made' film blamed in part on Tom Cruise
The loved ones of two people who died during a plane crash while filming for "American Made" claim Tom Cruise is partially to blame for it.
The Blast reports from court documents that the families of Alan Purwin and Carlos Berl believe the famous actor and director Doug Liman "contributed to the circumstances that led to the fatal on-set crash on September 11, 2015."
Those alleged circumstances include a number of takes of "lavish flying sequences" that piled on extra flight hours to the schedule.
According to The Blast, Both Cruise and his director are not named in the lawsuit, but documents claim the two were adding shots from the air "on the fly."
Emails from Purwin allegedly show the level of stress added to the production based on these demands.
At the time of this post, Cruise's reps had not responded to a request for comment from The Blast.
