Trial set for Heritage House

An appeal will be heard on Monday against tearing down the blighted Heritage House

The Heritage House's fate goes to court yet again.

An appeal against an earlier ruling to tear down the Heritage House will be heard at the Superior Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday.

Previously, before his leave of absence, Judge Willie Weaver issued an order to tear demolish the Heritage House. The owner of the building, Greenbrier holding LLC, is appealing this ruling.

The fate of the Heritage House has been a discussion in the political arena. Former state representative and Albany Mayoral candidate John White wants to turn the blighted building into the Heritage House Hotel while former Ward II Commissioner Dorothy Hubbard wants to see the building torn down.
