Taxpayer phone calls influence the city commission
Commissioners Jon Howard and Roger Marietta told FOX 31 News they both received numerous phone calls and emails questioning why the commission would settle with Cutliff Grove without looking for any potential foul play.
Commissioner Howard says his job is to listen to the taxpayers in his district and make sure he votes in their best interest which is why he along with other commissioners switched their original thought of settling. "I think that after the investigations over regardless of the outcome I think that our constituents will feel that we did the best thing with tax payers' money" says Howard.
At this point city commissioners will not move forward with any Cutliff Grove action until District Attorney Greg Edwards has closed the investigation.
