      South Georgia legislator arrested for DUI again

      The AJC reports that Sims was arrested by the Douglas Police Department at 1:45 a.m. Friday and was charged by a member of the Douglas Police Department's Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic unit with driving under the influence. / Georgia House of Representatives

      According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Representative Chuck Sims (R-Ambrose) has been arrested and charged with DUI for a second time in 2013.

      The AJC reports that Sims was arrested by the Douglas Police Department at 1:45 a.m. Friday and was charged by a member of the Douglas Police Department's Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic unit with driving under the influence.

      Douglas Deputy Chief Brannen Pruette told the AJC that Sims caught the officer's attention when he stopped 30 yards ahead of a traffic light, when the light was green at the time.

      According to the AJC, Sims was last arrested for DUI on April 2 in Douglas.
