The Lee County Commission considered and unanimously approved a proclamation to honor national public safety telecommunications week.
Emergency 911 personnel will be honored April 11-17, 2010.
Commissioners also considered a proposal to install water lines along Oakland Parkway which is the future site for the Lee County Library.
Chairman Ed Duffy says the commissioners already signed an option to let Oakland Partners run the water line for $75,000 because the other bids surpassed $80,000. "It's imperative that we discuss this immediately because they're in the process of paving the very road the waterline is going to be run under so that's the reason we approved this tonight so we can run the waterline and ultimately pave the road" says Duffy.
