A local business woman running for the Albany ward three commission seat has qualified for the November race.
B.J. Fletcher filled out her paperwork Friday at the Albany Elections Office. She says ward three is the heart of this community but for the last decade there hasn't been any progress.
Fletcher states that if the center of the community is dying or suffering, then the rest of the community is going to suffer as well.
"We've got horrible potholes and horrible areas where it is so dark you can't see your hand in front of you. We've got people that work every day to pick their property up just to be next to a piece of property that's bringing their property down," said B.J. Fletcher. "I want to find out what their concerns are and I want to help them address these concerns," said BJ Fletcher.
She says people in ward three pay the same amount of taxes as everybody and they deserve to have what other communities have.
