As the holiday season comes to a close, it's time to start thinking about the New Year. In our Facebook Story of the Day, viewers wanted to know what others are hopeful for in 2012.
Some people we spoke with have personal hopes, like one Monroe High School junior who says he hopes his mom recovers after her strokes.
Others want to see the area liven up with more things to do for kids and more businesses.
Many people had one hope in common: more jobs.
"We just need more jobs here in Albany, we need to open up more businesses. If we can come together and everybody get together and only have money on the mind we can get it," says Albany Resident Stacy Medlock.
Lee County Resident Tammie Glass says she relates to those who want to see more jobs: She says her husband lost his job in May and has been working temporary jobs since then.
"I would like to see people have a lot more peace, not have to worry so much about where the next meal is coming from where they're getting their next dollar from," says Glass.
A lot of other community members also say they hope people stop saying the world is going to end in 2012.
