EDC forms committee to discuss new president
The Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission formed a committee Thursday morning to propose a process going forward in filling the president's job permanently.
EDC Chairman Jay Smith says that committee will meet this week and hopefully come back to the board within two weeks and make a recommendation for how to go about filling the job.
The committee members are City Manager James Taylor, County Administrator Richard Crowdis, and Cynthia George. Smith says he will be on the committee to facilitate the process.
The Commission also decided on a $20,000 salary increase for Interim President Justin Strickland.
EDC President Ted Clem announced his resignation last week which is effective Jan. 31. He has been the president since 2009.
