Some good news in this bad economy--the Dougherty County Commission is deciding to keep the millage rate where it's at for now.
Tax Director Denver Hooten presented the plan to the commission Monday.
Hooten says keeping the millage rate the same will meet the county's budget needs.
"The county wide digest, it reduced basically about one percent this year and the budget, hopefully, was reduced too because that is what they're going to set the millage rate based on," says Hooten.
The millage rate for the county has been 11.894 since 2008.
