City of Albany releases finalists for Assistant City Manager position

City Manager James Taylor has released the names and educational background of finalists for the one of the Assistant City Manager positions currently open.

Taylor wrote that the following candidates have emerged as the the top finalist for the the above position of the five individuals interviewed by both citizen and departmental panels. The three candidates in alphabetical order are:

Lonnie W. Ballard, Jr. currently employed as the Assistant City Manager, City of Riverdale, Georgia since 2004. Mr. Ballard has a number of years of experience in city government operations. He also possesses a bachelor's degree from Hampton University in English, Hampton, Virginia and Masters Degree from Old Dominion University in Public Administration, Norfolk, Virginia.

Dennis L. Stroud currently employed as the Assistant Director of Recreations, Parks and Facilities Department for the City of Augusta, GA. Mr. Stoud served for 25 years in the US Army and retired at the rank of Sergeant Major. Mr. Stoud received a BA degree from Wayland Baptist University in Occupational Education, Plainview, Texas and a MA degree from Brenau University in Leadership Development, Gainesville, Georgia

William J. Tinsely currently employed as Assistant County Manager/Finance Director for Clarkesville, Georgia since 2006. Mr. Tinsley has a BA from East Tennessee State University in Political Science, Johnson City, Tennessee and a Masters Degree in City Management also from East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, Tennessee
