The NGA Hooters Golf Tour has camped out at the Stonebridge Golf Course in Albany this week, and Thursday was the day when it finally started counting|for all the wings.
In the first round of the Michelob Ultra Classic, several Albany-natives are clawing their way on to the leader board. Josh Broadaway is closest to the top after 18 holes. Broadaway is tied for 21st after a -4 round. Deerfield-Windsor product Brandon Anthony is one stroke off Broadaway TMs pace at -3 in his Thursday morning round.
Darton College TMs Roy Steinberg is creeping just along the cut-line shot at -1. Currently, the projected cut is at -2. Jason Flowers had a day to forget shooting +7, and finished day one near the bottom of the board.
Overall, Canadian Stuart Anderson shot a 64, -8. The Alberta-native leads Kyle Ellis, Ryan Blaum and Matt Boyd by one stroke.
