The Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany ran their first active shooter training exercise Wednesday.
The base-wide training was announced promptly on the speaker and everyone on the base had to either run, hide or fight quickly based on their training as if someone was on the base with a gun. Others partaking in the training had to complete an online training session by November 30 before completing the live drill.
Installation Emergency Manager Michael Harris says the training overall went well, especially on their second try and they plan to have another drill training on Dec 11th.
An additional detailed training with a possible reenactment of a pretend shooter involving military police and local first responders is set for January.
