Basketball is a game that requires different fundamentals like shooting, dribbling, rebounding, and passing. Sometimes these fundamentals are overlooked, but Deerfield-Windsor Athletic Directer Gordy Gruhl understands the importance of learning these skills at a young age.

Hoops for the Stars is a summer camp that is hosted at Deerfield-Windsor School and has been part of the Knights' tradition for many years.

"We have been hosting this basketball camp for 30 years now and we like to teach and expose the game of basketball to these young players" said Gruhl

The four day camp has 4th-6th graders working on a different skill each day, followed by different contest each day and finishing off the day with a friendly game of five on five. One unique thing about the camp is over the years, most kids who are current Deerfield-Windsor Knights played through this camp.
