For the last 12 years, the Colquitt County Sheriff's Office has put together an event to get the community into the holiday spirit.
The annual dove shoot attracts people from all over Colquitt County to help raise money for the Georgia's Sheriff's Boys Ranch.
Colquitt County Sheriff Al Whittington said, "We have about 150 to 225 people gather for some good food, the audition, and the bird shoot."
With 100 dollars a ticket and donations from different sponsors throughout Colquitt County, the money goes towards the Boys Ranch in Hahira, Georgia. The Sheriff's of Georgia provide a good home to the boys at the Boys Ranch in need.
With Christmas just around the corner the event helps provide a decent Christmas for the kids and on Christmas Eve the Sheriff's office goes to Hahira to deliver the holiday spirit.
