A full slate of action on the diamonds at the Albany State sports complex on Saturday afternoon. Fans of Golden Ram baseball and softball could take 20 steps in either direction, and find a game to watch.
Albany State baseball swept a doubleheader with ease from Morehouse College, 20-7 and 12-2. ASU benefited from some home cooking. The Rams had not played a home game since March 22.
Game one, the Rams offense was as hot as Saturday's Georgia sun. ASU's hitters tallied 14 runs in the third and fourth innings. In game two, Rams pitcher Ken Nesbitt shut down the Tigers. Nesbitt went the distance giving up two runs and adding three strikeouts.
The wins continue Albany State's good start in conference moving the team's record to 7-1
