The 4th Annual Striker's Classic Master's bowling invitational for Special Olympics is an event that prepares athletes from all over the state for the big games that start in August. The event attracts over 120 different athletes who get the opportunity to see what the competition is like throughout the state and it's a chance to meet others before the game in Warner Robins.
Albany has two teams competing; Albany ARC and Albany recreation and parks department. Along with the bowling, local law enforcement from Dougherty County handed out awards and greeted all the athletes. Kristin Caso is the woman behind the scenes from the recreation and parks department who helped put this who event together.
Caso said, "This is a great event and athletes look forward to all year long, and it's a chance for athletes to meet other athletes."
